Free Realms has officially removed the daily limit Mystery Chests. Players previously were limited to one chest per day, and required to purchase a key from the station cash store to open it. With this restriction lifted players now have the option to earn many cool items every day.

While the key will still need to be purchased, players are now able to earn unlimited chests per day by following the on-screen instructions. The "Today's Mystery Chest" screen provides two different options for players to earn chests. Players will find that today Series 1: Original is available by completing a cooking challenge, and Series 2: Sci-fi can be earned through dungeons.

Today's update did not bring the now highly anticipated Gloam Invasion, as it is still scheduled for this upcoming week. Instead small updates and hot-fixes were applied to the game.

Players were surprised to find a new "Dark Flower Island Shirt" in their mailbox. The description of the item encourages players to "Make every Friday an Island Shirt Friday."

The item has been found in users' mail box in Free Realms. Many paying members are reporting that they have not received their "Dark Flower Island Shirt" at all, while others are reporting receiving it on multiple characters. At the present time, it is recommended that players log onto the main character that they wish to redeem the shirt on, these shirts may be limited to one per member.

The "Dark Flower Island Shirt" will be available to all players currently subscribed to the "life-time membership." and those who choose to purchase the 3-month summer membership pass to Free Realms.

Members who are currently subscribed to a previous monthly plan may still purchase the summer pass, according to the fine print the remaining time left on your membership will be converted to station cash after your purchase of a summer pass.

Things are starting to heat up this summer in Free Realms. Many of you will recall the producer's letter and mention of Sunstone Valley arriving this summer. Thanks to the SOE Team at E3 2012, there are some exciting details emerging about the update and incoming changes to Free Realms.

Sunstone Valley now has a target release of "by the end of summer." While players may be disappointed that it won't be arriving anytime soon, there are some interesting developments in story line for Free Realms. SOE also provided a little tease of what to expect in Sunestone Valley. The same mini-games will be available, but new collections, quests, and areas to explore will be all available when it is released this summer.

According to the E3 coverage by SOE, there new content on the way this week! The events leading up to Sunstone Valley will be filled of some exciting changes, and a cool story line to satisfy those interested in Free Realms Lore.

The "Lore" of Free Realms is one aspect many older players have been asking to be addressed. There has not been a story line to complete since Chapter One was released in June 2009.

The Event titled "Gloam Invasion" takes place in Shrouded Vale. The area has been renamed Shrouded Gloam and will feature fire and destruction throughout. This event will feature a unique story line, where you can choose to side with the Druids or Dwarves taken refuge in Shrouded Gloam.

One last feature added will be the "Open World Combat" in Shrouded Gloam. The Combat will no longer be instanced in this area; instead you will be able to participate in combat with other players in the middle of the road! Rest assured that nothing bad will happen should you get knocked out.

Members will be pleased to hear the popular "Mystery Chests" added to Free Realms will soon have some new special items added. Free Realms has revealed through their newest "Super Secret Stuff" video that the second series of items will be coming soon to Free Realms.

The second series of Mystery Chest items will feature a sci-fi theme. Items featured in the video above include a Robot Boombox, Sci-fighter Outfit, Alien Outfit, and the very cool Alien Spaceship Ride. While we do not know when these items will be available we hope it will be soon.

Currently the Mystery Chest items feature an exclusive Kangaroo Mount, Hoverboots, Zoot Suit, and more. It is unknown if these items will continue to be available through Mystery Chests once the second series is released, or if these items will be retired from the chests altogether.
