    Quests

    Chapter 2

Okay so we still have yet to get a proper expansion of the chapter 1 quest line. The main quest line ends after defeating Geoffrey and administering the antidote to Queen Valerian. The reward for completing the chapter 1 quest line is the Royal Guard Tabard, a ceremonial shirt worn by the royal guards of Sanctuary. There needs to be a formal expansion of the main quest line consisting of an organized plot for chapter 2. I do not consider the hero's journal to be part 2 as it is just a collection of random quests and events. The reward of completing the chapter 2 quest line should be a Royal Guard Galea (helmet worn by Greek centurions.) That way you would have both the shirt and helmet worn by the royal guards of Sanctuary. I think that the main objective/eventual goal of the Chapter 2 quest line is to become an official and honorary member of the Sanctuary royal guard, sworn protectors of the queen.

    Chapter 2 Plot

I think in Chapter 2 one of the Queen's royal guards should find some kind of notes or diary left behind by Geoffrey detailing locations and times he would rendezvous with agents of the unnamed threat. It would mention that sometime in the near future he was to meet with one of these said agents to receive orders and
brief them on his actions and progress of infiltrating the royal guard and poisoning the Queen. Now that he is defeated he can not make it to this meeting so one of the royal guards will suggest that you go in his place to learn more about the enemies plans, unfortunately you do not look like Geoffrey so you will need to collect some items by doing various quests to give to someone in Sanctuary who can make a potion for you to drink to disguise you as Geoffrey. Then you go to the location and meet this agent and lie to them and say that the Queen is quite ill and currently in a weakened state from drinking the poison to which the agent will tell you that everything is going to plan and now is the time to strike and will invite you back to their henchmen headquarters located somewhere in Briarwood where you will meet their army.

You soon learn that there are evil Pixies working and conspiring with corrupt Chugawugs. They have defeated and driven out the military presence at Tanglewood Fortress to raid them of weapons and supplies to use against the Queen. You report back to the royal guard with this information and they tell you to go to Tanglewood Fortress and sabotage their forces. You then go and complete the Tanglewood Fortress battle and report back to the royal guard who now tell you that they have received word from Darkthorne that there is increased hostile activity from necrowarts/shamblers in Briarwood and sends you to Briarheart Palace to help. You are told by the Darkthorne that the hostile necrowarts/shamblers are coming from Dark Spore Depths and sends you there to investigate. You then go and complete the Dark Spore Depths battle and report back to Darkthorne and tell her that you have stopped the hostile necrowarts/shamblers. She then says that she is suspicious as to why they have suddenly gone into a rage and asks you to investigate matter further. You walk around nearby the entrance of Dark Spore Depths and find some evil pixies plotting (they will spawn there when you start the quest) and you listen in on their conversation and hear that they have created some kind of mind control device to enrage the necrowarts/shamblers they then find out you are ease dropping on them and attack you, you defeat them and report back to Darkthorne.

Darkthorne will tell you that she has never heard of such technology but suspects that only the most intelligent of pixies would be able to create such a device and tells you that the only person she knows of that would create such a thing is Geomancer Hailstorm at Briarheart Caverns and you are sent there to defeat him. You then go and complete the Briarheart Caverns battle and report back to Darkthorne. When you enter the Briarheart Palace you find that everything is in chaos. Darkthorne is injured and tells you that they were wrong about Geomancer Hailstorm being the one behind that attacks and that someone used the necrowarts/shamblers and attacked Briarheart Palace while you were gone. Out of leads and in need of protection, Darkthorne sends you back to Queen Valerian for aid. (You may have to do a series of quests to help Queen Valerian collect resources in the aid of Briarheart Palace.) You return to Sanctuary and tell Queen Valerian everything that has happened. She sends reinforcements to Briarheart Palace and asks you to once again disguise yourself as Geoffrey to learn the enemies plan.

You drink the potion (there was some left over from the first time you drank the potion) and you go back to the henchmen headquarters located somewhere in Briarwood. There the evil army asks where have you been and tells you that "the boss" said that you were supposed to be the one to lead the attack on Briarheart Palace. You make up an excuse and say that you were spying on Queen Valerian and the royal guard's movements. You are then told that the evil army is aware of the reinforcements Queen Valerian has sent to aid Darkthorne and then you are questioned as to why Queen Valerian is still able to make orders and has not succumb to the poison yet. You make more excuses and then the evil army tells you that it doesn't matter anyway because the "boss's plan" is going to succeed and the forces at Briarheart Palace will soon be defeated. You then try to pry for more information as to who this "boss" is and what exactly is this so called plan and at this point the evil army has become too suspicious of you and calls you an imposter and attacks. You then have to defeat all the evil Pixies and Chugawugs at this evil encampment.

Afterwards you discover some notes that talk about a final attack on Briarheart Palace, with no time to inform Queen Valerian about the attack you rush over to Briarheart Palace only to find it now occupied by the evil army. You then fight you way into the Palace and find the real person behind the mind control of the necrowarts/shamblers and you must fight them as the final boss of the Chapter 2 quest line. After defeating this person you are told that they are not the "boss" and that the boss is far more powerful then you can ever imagine. You then restore safety and security to the Briarheart Palace and return to Queen Valerian to tell her what has happened. She then says that she is worried who this boss may be but is optimistic that whoever it may be can be defeated by you the player because you have proven yourself. She then rewards you by making you officially apart of the royal guard.

Note: You would need to create a main villain to fill the role of the final boss in this Chapter, I would suggest either a pixie (preferably) or a chugawug. You would also need to create a new area in Briarwood for this "evil encampment."

    Chapter 3

After completing the new Chapter 2 quest line there should be a third and final chapter. In this chapter you finally find out who the boss is and must defeat them. I think that the main objective/eventual goal of the Chapter 3 quest line is to further prove yourself as being a powerful and loyal member of royal guard and becoming either Queen Valerian's second in command or replacing her as the new leader of Sanctuary altogether. You will be rewarded with some kind of displayable title upon completion of this quest series similar to the titles you gain through completing achievements. I have already written up a plot for the Chapter 3 quest line but it would require Chapter 2 to be published and released first, that way it can expand off the events that happened in the Chapter 2 quest line. Supposing that SOE officially adopts my plot for Chapter 2, dwarves will be included in Chapter 3 and the Gloam Invasion will also be tied in to Chapter 3.

    Default Re: Quests

Part 2 (Apparently my thread was too long.)

    Quests collections

So far there is only 1 quest collection which is Snowhill protector. You receive this by completing a series of quests in Snowhill. I think there should be a quest collection for each of the major towns in Free Realms. This would mean a short central quest series in each town.

So there would be each of the following:

    Briarwood protector
    Black Spore Swamp protector
    Merry Vale protector
    Shrouded Glade protector
    Seaside protector
    Wugachug protector
(There is no need for there to be a Sanctuary protector because that is where the main quest line takes place.)

    Job quests

Alright so we have all noticed that most of the jobs in the game have a max level item set. There are 16 total jobs in the game, 2 are free style and have no level requirements for it's clothing, of the remaining 14 jobs 11 have a maxed level item set. The three jobs that do not have a maxed level item set are as followed:
Demo Derby, Kart Racing, and Soccer Star. My idea is to implement a second quest line for each of these jobs so that after you complete the first quest line you would be able to start the second, sort of like the Card Duelist quest lines. Let me elaborate.

    Demo Derby

At the end of the Demo Derby quest line you are rewarded with the crash cup. I think that after you complete the first quest line you should be able to start a short second quest line that will have you facing off in 1 derby per track in Sacred Grove. There are 4 tracks in Sacred Grove, completing the quest at each track will reward you with a piece of maxed level clothing until you have completed the set. For example, you would earn the maxed level helmet from the frost ridge derby, the maxed level shirt from the thunder falls derby, the maxed level pants from the tangle track derby and the maxed level boots from the wildwood derby. This would mean 4 new quests for the second quest line.

    Kart Racing

At the end of the Kart Racing quest line you are rewarded with the lightning cup. Similarly to Demo Derby I think that after you complete the first quest line you should be able to start a short second quest line that will have you facing off in 1 race per track in Sacred Grove. There are 4 tracks in Sacred Grove, completing the quest at each track will reward you with a piece of maxed level clothing until you have completed the set. For example, you would earn the maxed level helmet from the frost ridge race, the maxed level shirt
from the thunder falls race, the maxed level pants from the tangle track race and the maxed level boots from the wildwood race. This would mean 4 new quests for the second quest line.

    Soccer Star

There is no real reward for completing the Soccer Star quest line at least nothing significant that I can remember. So my idea with Soccer Star is going to be a little different from the previous two jobs.
I think you can go about this two different ways. My first option, assuming you want to have a full max level item set for Soccer Star, I think there should be a series of 6 quests/title games for the second Soccer Star quest line. You would earn a maxed level item piece in each quest/title game. The first you would earn a maxed level bandana, the second a maxed level shirt, the third a maxed level shorts, the forth a maxed level shin guards, the fifth a maxed level shoes and lastly some kind of trophy or cup to be equipped in the weapon slot. Unlike Demo Derby and Kart Racing, Soccer Star does not have leveled clothing so perhaps a complete maxed level item set would be unnecessary. So my second option would be to add only 1 additional quest so that you can at least earn some kind of trophy or cup to be equipped in the weapon slot similarly to how Demo Derby and Kart Racing have a cup for the weapon slot.

    Chapter 3 Plot

Following the events of Chapter 2, you will be notified by the royal gaurd that Queen Valerian has sent for you. You go to the Sanctuary Palace and find out that one of the mind control devices from Chapter 2 was recovered and upon investigation they have found out that it is actually of dwarven tech. So you discover that the weilder of the device of Chapter 2 was not the creator of the device. The Queen then asks you to investigate this technology and seek out dwarves that might have more information. You then do various quests meeting dwarves all over Sacred Grove but you are ulitmately then sent to Smitty the Blacksmith in Snowhill. He will tell you that he has never seen anything like this before but he will confirm that it is indeed dwarven tech. After speaking with Smitty he will tell you that they only people he knows who might have more information about the device are the dwarves in Sun Stone Valley. So you go to Sun Stone Valley and ask around and the dwarves will inspect the device and tell you that it has a Skullz emblem on it.
You must now track down and defeat some Skullz to learn more about the device. This will of course be in vain and you will be told that only the leader of the Skullz has the information that you seek and you will be told his new where-abouts after his defeat in the Sun Stone Valley questline. Once you confront the leader of the Skullz you will be told that they did not create the device themselves but instead they were contracted by another dwarf to collect and supply the resources so that this dwarf inventor could create these devices.

The Skullz leader will tell you that the next rendezvous will be soon and you are asked to accompany the Skullz to the drop off so you can confront the dwarf inventor. You arrive at the meeting and confront the dwarf inventor who decides to take off on a motocycle. You then begin a motorcycle chase through the desert tailing the dwarf inventor back to his headqaurters while dodgeing a variety of projectile explosives and traps laid by the dwarf inventor. Once you arrive at the headquarters the dwarf inventor will jump into a mech suit and battle you. Once defeated the dwarf inventor will then tell you that they did indeed create the device, but they did so unwillingly and that they never intended for things to go this far but they were threatened by the gloam to do their bidding. He will then tell you the gloam's plan which is to build portals using dwarven tech to allow the gloam to reenter Sacred Grove. You continue to interogate the dwarf inventor only to find out that 1 such portal already exists and that the gloam is using it to contact/communicate with the dwarf inventor which is how they recieve their orders. You demand that the dwarf inventor takes you to this portal immediately to shut it down but when you arrive at the location of the portal the dwarf inventor will be in shock and then tells you that the gloam has taken the crystals that are used to open and close the portal, to the other side. Then suddenly the gloam now aware of your presence begins sending gloam constructs through the portal to attack you. They quickly capture the dwarf inventor brining them back through the portal which they have created and then surround you. You are out numbered and forced to retreat.

You report back to Queen Valerian with what has happened and she tells you that the royal gaurd may not be enough to defeat the gloam alone and sends you to Darkthorne for reinforcements. So you go to Briarheart Palace which is still recovering from the events of Chapter 2 and while Darkthorne agrees to send help, you must first complete a few tasks for her to aid in the recovery of Briarheart Palace. After doing so you then take the combined forces of both Sanctuary and Briarheart back to the location of the portal (not literally, they will already be there waiting for you) only to find that now multiple portals have open and the dwarves are currently in gridlock with the gloam. You and the allied forces begin to help the dwarves retaliate as you fight through a few waves of enemies. Then stronger more advanced gloam constructs will begin to emerge from the portal augmented with technology made from the dwarf inventor. They will carry out with them the captured dwarf inventor now concealed in a makeshift gloam cage so that he can provide support to the newly created gloam constructs by healing them. You then fight through a few more waves of enemies eventually freeing the dwarf inventor from captivity. Once the action has died down the dwarf inventor tells you that you must go through one of the portals and destroy the crystals that power them to shut them down and a team of dwarves volunteer to go through and help you. You enter the portal and now stand in the gloam headquarters where you must defend the dwarves while they destroy the crystals.

After defeating multiple waves of gloam constructs there will be only 1 crystal left, the original crystal to the first portal. You and the dwarves will make your way over to the crystal when the leader of the gloam, the Gloam Lord attacks you knocking out the team of dwarves that have accompanied you. You then begin a multiple stage battle against the giant Gloam Lord.

    The Gloam Lord (Giant Form)
Something like this: (but more dark)

The first stage you must attack it's hands. Once it's hands are defeated you will begin to attack it's abdomen while it summons gloam constructs to fight you. Once you have weakened it's abdomen it will occasionally become stunned and fall to the ground allowing you to hit it in the head a few times. During this phase it will occasionally perform it's ultimate attack shooting an eye laser from a cybernetic attachment made from the dwarf inventor, moving from one end of the battlefield traveling diagonally across the entire battlefield. This phase will continue until both the head and abdomen life bars are emptied. Then the Gloam Lord will begin to melt down into a pool of dark energy and then the Gloam Lord will rise up from the dark energy as a Dark Knight about the size of a Chugawug (normal size, no longer a giant.) And you will have to battle with it once more.

Dark Knight Gloam Lord (normal form)
    Something like this:

After defeating the Dark Knight Gloam Lord the dwarves will regain consciousness and destroy the last crystal as you and the dwarves jump through the now closing portal. Once back in Sacred Grove the allied forces celebrate and a new peace treaty is signed between the Sanctuary Palace, Briarheart Palace and Sun Stone Valley, uniting pixies and dwarves to live in harmony. You then return to Sanctuary Palace where you are rewarded by Queen Valerian and given a special title as an ambassador of peace for the land of Sacred Grove.

EDIT: After some discussion I have decided that this may not be the appropriate time/quest to fight the "Gloam Lord" itself. So instead this battle will be replaced with a rouge Gloam General who has decided to try to reenter the land of Sacred Grove without consent from his master, the Gloam Lord. This ambitious and rebellious general wants to try to take over the land of Sacred Grove for himself out of greed and jealously because he was not chosen to become the leader of the Gloam but instead must serve a master. Angered by his comrades, he feels betrayed by his own kind and initiates the events that started the royal quest line.

The idea was to eventually include a Chapter series for each major town in the game. The royal quest line originating in Sanctuary would have been a 3 part chapter series for the town of Sanctuary. Elves would have been included in a Chapter series for Snowhill and possibly other towns as well. There would have been a total of 8 major quest lines each with 3 Chapters which all would intertwine and ultimately reach a final 9th Chapter quest line to serve as the canon ending to the game. Zyonmkxq expressed this idea to SOE but they showed no interest so Zyon stopped writing after completing the Sanctuary Chapter series. He already had 2 other towns planned in writing but saw no point to continue after SOE more or less told him that he was wasting his time.

This is the best idea EVER! I was never really one to hate SOE, but that was a retarded move. ._.

He offered to do all this for free too btw... He didn't expect any kind of compensation at all... Literally hundreds of new quests would have been made with no real effort on SOE's part. That is Zyon's dedication. #bringbackzyon

One of the many(err, maybe) points I agree with you on, the need for a quest that actually connects to the original story line in some way(always had a problem with the way they handled the "gloam" thing--if they did at all, as I'm about to ask), but wasn't Hero Rises presented as part two? Or would that be the Shrouded Gloam update? I think I asked Zyon or you before, though I can't recall the answer.

Shrouded Gloam was a makeshift part 2 which really was supposed to serve as like an origin story for the events leading to SSV. It didn't really reference the royal quest line at all and was more or less its own stand alone series. It was deemed part 2 by the players but nothing official. There was never any real "bridge" between the royal quest line to SSV, Gloam Invasion or Hero Rises for that matter. The Hero Rises was supposed to serve as a replacement to the royal quest line and to be officially accepted as the central progressive quest line of the game. According to SOE the royal quest line is not canon. They said something to the effect of the royal quest line is basically like a dream or flashback or something of that nature and doesn't impact the events of the Hero Rises. To which I have said, why can't we have both? I mean really, the Hero Rises isn't any more of an established quest line then the royal quest line was, it still lacks a concrete/comprehensive plot. It is just a bunch of random events loosely tied to a very vague story about the gloam. I do not see why they cant just be two paths leading to the same destination happening simultaneously. They do not conflict with one another in terms of contingency so I do not understand the problem. Essentially it is just laziness on SOE's part not wanting to do more work and actually develop some interesting plot lines. What I am interested in is what is said in the FR comics, I would like to read them to see if there is any real plot to those which can be incorporated into the game somehow.
