## Re: school, and newbs

I can Kinda help you on the math... my brain has melted a little because of no school O_o

I can do 20 and 22 but not 21 yet O_O (I kinda forget how to do 21)

I miss really easy math(6*15)

and to Celes and Keith its 1.33 on 21 because you forgot to do -3 instead of 3(I think that is how you do it....)

Edit: I now know how to do 21Last edited by Abiagail Coralmusic; 01-02-2011 at 01:05 PM.

## Re: school, and newbs

**6x+3=4x+11**Minus 3

Plus 4x

Divide by 10

Wat Get?

**x = 0.8**

Plus 3

6x-3=11

Divide by 6

Wat get?

**x = 2.3 (repeating of course)**

**-3x+5=7**

Minus 5

Divide by -3

Wat get?

**x = -0.6 (repeating of course)**

Don't divide by zero. D: And this was done in like a minute, lol.

And apparently I need to go relearn how to make tables on this forum.

Princess, did I do it wrong? >_> I haven't had mathematics for awhile.

## Re: school, and newbs

Hmm? The last two are good, but how did you get 0.8 in the first? It's 0.25 here.

6x+3=4x+11

6x-4x=11-3 (the unknown value goes to the left and changes from positive to negative, and the known value goes to the right changing from positive to negative)

2x=8

2:8 = 0.25

## Re: school, and newbs

Here's how I do it:

6x+3=4x+11

Subtract 3 on both sides.

Subtract 4x on both sides.

+3, -3 on the left cancels out.

+4x, -4x on the right cancels out.

2x=8

Divide by 2 on both sides.

2 divided by 2 is 1.

8 divided by 2 is 4.

(1)x=4

21. 6x-3=11

Add 3 on both sides.

-3; +3 on the left cancel out.

11 plus 3 equals 14.

6x=14

Divide by 6 on each side.

6 divided by 6 is 1.

14 divided by 6? Can't do that. It can either be a mixed number or an improper fraction.

(1)x=7/3 OR 2 1/3

22. -3x+5=7

Subtract 5 on both sides.

+5, -5 on the left cancel out.

7 minus 5 equals 2.

-3x=2

Divide by -3 on both sides.

-3 divided by -3 equals a +1 because a negative divided/multiplied by a negative equals a positive.

2 divided by -3? Can't do that. So, it's a fraction.

(1)x=-2/3

Sorry it took awhile to reply. I was afk. =PLast edited by Princess Celestina; 01-02-2011 at 01:02 PM.
