Default To people who know about computers and how they work!

I am having a terrible problem in Free Realms. Before the Heart update in February my computer ran Free Realms with no problems. I didn't hardly know what the word lag meant.
Now since the update my computer has been freezing/lagging every little bit. It doesn't freeze up completely but my screen will slow way down so that I can still see what is happening but it is in slow motion.
I have been trying to level my kart driver job recently and when the freeze takes place my kart will sit on the track and I will see cars pass me, pass me again and then a third time. Needless to say I am coming in 8th place when this happens. Not fun!
At this time I no longer want to play Free Realms. It isn't fun to group with friends, play the pirate game, level my kart driver or soccer player or even work on my house because it is just too frustrating.
I don't seem to have any problems doing anything else on my computer. I have watched tv shows on Hulu a lot lately since I can't play FR and don't have problems there. Before February I was able to play FR with the graphics all the way up but now I have them way down. I defragged, run a virus scan, updated all my files but nothing seems to help.

I am hoping that someone here is able to give me some suggestions that might help answer what the problem is so that I can play Free Realms once again the way it is supposed to be played.

Here is my system information. Thank you to anyone who is able to help!

I've been having a similar freeze problem , followed by a swift kick off the server .

My computer has been doing the SAME exact thing. It freezes, lags, crashes and I used to be able to go through any crowd without any of that. I've called people to come look at it but they didn't know the problem.

    o_o
Well, the lag/freeze/kick-off-server issue seems to be a universal problem in Free Realms. Lately, it seems to be more widespread - I may call it an epidemic soon. As you observed, it doesn't seem to be an issue with your computer, but rather the game itself.
If the lag is really that great, the Server you go on will have some impact. You'll also want to make sure you have minimal background programs running or open. Simply minimizing a window reduces the stress on your computer by quite a bit - I've witnessed it myself. Video, music, even advertisements will cause some stress, so closing all other windows on your computer after launching Free Realms (that includes your profile) will hopefully reduce some lag.
If possible, you may want to try cleaning out a few files, as well. From the DirectX Diagnosis notes, it seems you're using quite a bit of RAM. If you don't want to delete anything, a spare flash drive/memory stick laying around may be able to take some of the bigger, less-used files off your hands, so that the files are still available but not as encumbering.

I'm not far into software yet, but my mother has a friend that knows a lot more than I do (not sure how much he knows compared to you >_>). If you're still having trouble after a little while, I may be able to ask him to try and see if he can find a problem.
Status: Quit FR since I never liked FR at all. Will probably not post anymore.

First step always.... Need to check that there's not too much dust inside the system unit... especially the fan needs to be clean... usually my lag issues decrease notably after a good old vacuuming...

Could it be that when they update the game i becomes more... umm... how do i say this.. "bigger"!? I mean. it starts to reguire more efficient system to run it... Don't know it's a wild guess..

It is not my internet connection. My daughter, Stephanie Rabbitheart is on the same connection and it is not happening to her. That is what is making it confusing for us. My computer has a larger hard drive, more memory, a bigger graphics card and faster processor speed but she isn't having these issues. She has her graphics setting pulled all the way down but she doesn't get the freezing that I am experiencing. There is something that my computer doesn't like about the February update. I just wish I knew what it was.
Thanks for the ideas..please keep them coming..

I don't know much about computers but it would help a lot if you included DxDiag.txt and MSinfo.txt reports in your ticket to SOE. In case you do not know:
To create the files on your hard drive:

Press and hold the Windows key and tap the R key on your keyboard.
In the box that pops up type DXDIAG and press Enter on your keyboard.
Click the "Save all Information" button, located at the bottom of the program window.
In the Save As box click the icon in the top bar, and then click on Desktop.
    Save the file as "dxdiag.txt"
You'll need to do the Windows key and R trick again only this time you'll type MSINFO32
Click on the "File" menu and choose "Export"
In the File name box type MSinfo and click on Save

After that you zip/rar the files and attach it with your ticket.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah the only thing I can think of is what Tommy said. Do that and the refs could probably help.

Julissa! That is a great idea! We have been doing construction lately and it wouldn't hurt for sure!!!

    RP! Yay!!!
As I have stated in the past... I am unable to do two things at once so I never have other windows open besides what I am doing!
but after saying that... I do keep my profile window open because I thought you had too! I will close it from now on.

Okay... to the other thing... I don't know how to delete things that you are seeing. I have a flash drive stick but don't know what you mean by that or how to do it. I did run a program the other day that is supposed to clean temp files and needless things off and it cleaned off a huge amount of stuff but it didn't seem to help.

I knew I came to the right place by posting this here! THANK YOU!

Well, I actually posted this same information over on the official forum and have been posting it for a while. I did the DX thing and that is where I got the info that I posted here. I don't know if they work part time on the official forum or what but I have received a huge amount of help here in less than an hour and haven't received ANY help on a post that I wrote several days ago over there.
WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT FREE REALMS INSIDERS!!
    THIS SITE ROCKS!!!
I have not sent in a ticket though. I am going to do that right now. It makes me feel better just knowing that it is just not me.
