Will there be a Japanese version of the game in the near future?

I would like to play the game in Japanese.

They are slowly working their way through many nationalities and it is unsure when we will have Free Realms in Japanese but we can only hope it is soon.

I believe there is a japanese community relations person on staff, I would assume japanese would come in the future

I do hope they will add the Japanese language in the game since the game is from SONY. I want to play the game in full Japanese to put my Japanese skills to the test. Everquest is an option, but this game is in my opinion a lot better and fun too.

I'm sure it will come sooner or later, but translation of an entire MMO is not an easy task, especially considering that direct translations can cause serious confusion. And they would need permanent or plenty of translaters there so that future content can be released in the language, too. And I think this would be even more difficult since Japanese writing is based on characters, not letters. Translation on such a scale would take a minimum of three months, so we can't expect it to be released too soon.

Why do you have to translate a game into Japanese that originated from Japan. SONY is a company in Japan. Everything is done in Japanese. If you look at the video in Youtube.com about the games preview, you will see all the different languages offered (including Japanese). However, as the game was launched, Japanese disappeared.

And no, typing Japanese using the IME system is not hard.

And I thought SOE (or at least the FR part of them) was stationed in California lol.

Still, considering the amount of text they would have to translate, it would still take at least a month, or a few weeks. And there are many other languages available, so Japanese may not be the top priority.

SOE (Sony online entertainment) Is a subsidiary of SONY. And the headquarters is located in San Diego (California).

The creator (Or the person who had the idea for?) of Free Realms was a English woman... if you can work out the process there.

It's a great game and I love it. I will be looking forward to the day where the Japanese language will be added.
