    Default Belated Introduction (Buck Nife)

Hello all. I've been a member for a few weeks, and I've lurked around and made use of the forums for longer than that. Way back in the day, I was a FR beta tester (I have the hat ), but then I put the game down for several months after the launch. Recently, though, I picked the game back up and am loving it. I have been a medium-hardcore online gamer for years, playing everything from Everquest to Anarchy Online to WoW to various collectible card games (still loving Legends of Norrath) and on and on. In most games, I go by the name "Mwen" (means 'I am' or 'me' in an little-known language). I have been a guild leader in City of Heroes (as Big Bubba Redneck in the League of Harmful Stereotypes [it's just a funny, not a bad thing -- I'm from the South]), Guild Wars (Champions of Fury and then Order of the Eternal Blade) and Everquest (Swords of the Dragon, once a 120+member guild on Xev). All that time, though, I always had a more social/casual game to fall back on for when I didn't feel like hardcore stuff, or when I didn't have the time. Until last year, Puzzle Pirates was that game, but I quit it months ago because of some frustrating development decisions.

All that to say that Free Realms has now taken the place of my 'casual' game of choice, but lately I find myself playing it more than my current 'hardcore' choice (Guild Wars, where I also got to play beta ). Part of the reason is that my little boy, still a toddler, loves to sit on my lap and play with me (Daddy -- wanna make little man go fishin'?). It makes for pretty cool fun.

Lastly, I would eventually love to settle down into an 'older gamer' type of guild. I have made several good friends in-game across the age spectrum. But I've found that many times gamers of different ages just seem to approach the game differently, and when you're with gamers closer to you own age, you don't seem to find yourself explaining your actions as much.

Anyways, thanks for being so warm to me as I've been getting more involved. It is a fun, honest and helpful community that has been built here.

Lacking anything to respond to all of that, welcome to Free Realms Insider!
Status: Quit FR since I never liked FR at all. Will probably not post anymore.

    Welcome to FRI

Thomas Edison's last words were 'It's very beautiful over there'.
I don't know where there is, but I believe it's somewhere, and I hope it's beautiful.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad, you're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

I think the hardcore part depends on your core, not necessarily the game. Anyway, my desire to stay up all night raiding has mellowed with a family.
