Why do people add you when you own a great place in Free Realms?

As you should know, I have built a hotel similar to Crystal Bluegem's, and when I advertise it on the beach while asking for donations, most people add me and generously give me a donation, some people add me and whisper, but some people add me and do nothing. Why is that?

NOTE: I do not demand donations.
