    Default What's next for Free Realms?

    A new story entry has been added:

    [drupal=135]What's next for Free Realms?[/drupal]

    There is no doubt of Free Realms ever growing popularity with users of both MMO veterans and the ever elusive casual gamer. The ever popular tag line: "It's your world, do what you want to do" has hooked 3 million users to date with its freedom to explore and create a story of their own.
    Of course this leads to the question - what's next for free realms?
    As a Role Playing Game (RPG) many argue Free Realms is lacking one of the key elements to the genre - a story line. And a call for a deeper game lore has been echoed by members of our Free Realms forums and others. Free Realms fansite free-realms-gamer.com has been writing articles on the lack of lore for awhile now, and recently got their answer with a comment from the community manger featured in a recent article.
    “We do have overarching storylines coming to Free Realms in the next update or two. Such plots are definitely more interesting to our older audience and not as much to the target audience, but it is still something we want to include. We will continue to add more big story arc stuff over time.”
    Perhaps we are already seeing a taste of this and the adventures to come with the latest news update featured on freerealms.com about the Briarwood area and the adventures to be found there:
    Briarwood has always been a frightening and forbidding wilderness area between Lavender Coast and Sacred Grove. Travelers between the two regions would go far out of their way to avoid having to venture close. Tales of shamblers and man-eating plants were enough to leave Briarwood mostly undisturbed.

    The Thistlerow hedge maze is the first obstacle adventurers will encounter when entering this dark forest. The twists and turns of the maze hide many dangers. From snakes and ravaging vineweeds to the perils of Treeleaf’s retreat, it is easy to find trouble.

    Beyond the maze lies Bristlewood. This wooded area has only a few inhabitants because it isn’t very safe to live there. Only the Chugawug soldiers on patrol keep Bristlewood from being completely overrun by strange creatures and plant life. In addition to many dangers, there is the Tangletrack Speedway. The speedway is a place for thrill seeking kart racers and demolition derby drivers to test their skills by racing though the roots of a giant forest.

    Once you pass through Bristlewood Gate the forest gives way to giant mushrooms and the massive Tanglewood Fort. In order to pass through the fort, you must impress Commander Kluggenkrush. Only then will you be allowed access to the heart of Briarwood to discover more about this mysterious land.
    Regardless, it seems Sony Online Entertainment is hearing the cries of the people. The upcoming storylines along with many updates to the social elements through guilds and houses upcoming later this year will bring many improvements to an already growing world - all with keeping in the theme of creating your own fun.

    Thomas Edison's last words were 'It's very beautiful over there'.
    I don't know where there is, but I believe it's somewhere, and I hope it's beautiful.

    I am hoping they bring out harder dungeons with harder bosses to actually force you into group play.

    I think there will be a return of the elves plot as there is a gate at snow hill.
