[GUIDE] Free Realms Farming
This guide IS a work in Progress - as stated below we need YOUR help. Please post any information that is in need of updates, or new info/tips you have.
Free Realms newest Activity is Farming. Each player will start with one Wilds Farm (accessed through the housing menu). There is a series of quests that will teach you the basics of farming: Clearing your land, placing plots, planting seeds, watering & the Farmers market. It will also explain the basics of the Farm-o-matic - so be sure to have your listening ears on and read through the quests!
Want to help us put the guide together? Please post any information & tips you may have down below.

FARM-O-MATIC
The Farm-o-matic is located on your farm lot. You can collect samples of certain plants in the "wild" (the green fields through out free realms) and create free seeds for you to plant and collect. We haven't found where all the seed samples are, or if they are all available as seed samples... it was noted in the podcast that "You can go around the world map to gather plant samples, even rare ones!"
FUSION SEEDS:
These are seeds created by combining two of the standard seed packs. It is only available for higher leveled farmers. Below is a list of combinations and their results.
Coming soon.
Chugaroot + Snowberry = Stainberry
Bumbleberry + Stickfruit = Honeytwig.
Brairmelon + Snowberry - Wintermelon
Gummyfruit + Rainleaf = Gumdrop
Rainleaf + Sunleaf= Rainbow leaf
Moonbean + Gummyfruit = Jellybean
LOCATION:
You only receive one sample if you harvest from a patch. You receive more when you find them in the wild.
- Bumbleberry - Patch: Located North-west of Crossroads. - Near Flowers/Plants in the Wilds.
- Sprialmint - Patch: Located West of Highroads Junction warpstone. - In Open fields in the Wilds.
- Wildroot - Patch: Located Southeast of Crossroads.
- Snowberry - Found under trees throughout Free Realms.
- Gummy fruit - Near dirt paths.
- Chugaroot - Near Waterfall, and Wugachug camp (by the cliff).
- Stickfruit - Near fallen logs.
- Sunleaf - Near bodies of water (near rainbow lake).
- Rainleaf - Near bodies of water.
- Moonbean -Found in dirt patches or near pathways. More commonly found at night.
- Starnut - Extremely Rare. "Found in Mountainous areas near path ways."
This image may not reveal the exact location the plant will re-spawn each time, but it will provide a general knowledge for where to look for it. As areas are explored & plants are found, this map will be updated. Starnut is not currently on the map (sorry! we haven't found it yet)

SEED SAMPLES:
This is only an average based upon multiple harvests I have done. Please post if you are getting a different number, as these may need to be adjusted.

- Chugaroot - 1 sample = 1 seed.
- Gummyfruit - 1 sample = 2 seeds.

Re: [GUIDE] Free Realms Farming
LEVELING YOUR FARM:
Leveling your farm provides you with bonuses, such as extra plots to plant seeds in, to new seeds to select and plant. While the quest line mentioned below will help you earn stars (experience), you can level your farm on Harvesting alone. Completing the "Humble Beginnings" quests will explain the basics of farming in Free Realms.
If you plant quick growing seeds (like Bumbleberry or Rainleaf) will allow you to harvest multiple times in one hour providing lots of experience towards your next level.
ARRANGING YOUR PLOTS:
Arranging your plots will influence how long it takes for you to plant, water, and harvest the plants. The faster you can complete this, the more time you can take to earn experience and find samples in the wild!
When you first start building your plot design, you will want to move your well closer. You can do this by entering "planning mode" and clicking on the well, you will then be able to move and rotate it. By placing in the middle of an open space, you can build plots around it. Making it very easy to access water from the well and water plants.
plots.png
Shown above is 12 plots arranged around the well. This is extremely useful during your first few levels when you only have the watering can, which means you only can hold enough water for one plot.
The closer your plants are to your tool shed & well the better. Like the watering well, you can also move your tool shed to a closer location. That way you do not have to run far to pick up your fungus killer, watering can, etc.
PLOT SIZE:
Plot size is influenced by your level. The Higher your level the more plants you can have growing at one time. Top soil is required to plant any seed and can be purchased in the coin shop.
Level 1/2 - 4 Plots.
Level 3/4 - 5 Plots.
Level 5 - 7 Plots.
Level 6 - 8 Plots.
Level 7 - 9 Plots.
Level 8 - 10 Plots.
Level 9 - 12 plots.
Level 10 - 14 Plots.
Level 11 - 16 plots.
Level 12 - 18 plots.
Level 13 - 21 plots.
QUEST LINE:
Humble Beginnings: Weeding - Pull 10 weeds.
Humble Beginnings: Placing Soil - Place 1 plot.
Humble Beginnings: Planting a seed - Plant one Bumble Berry seed.
Humble Beginnings: Watering Crops - Water your Bumble berry seed.
Humble Beginnings: Harvesting - Harvest Bumbleberry
The Farmers Market: Sell Farmer Chug's extra crops.
Snowberry sample - get 5 (?) snowberry samples.
Birds of a feather - Scare 8 birds.
Wild Mixtures - Mix a wildroot & another sample.
Ya know what bugs me? - Spray 8 swarms of bugs.
Goody Goody Gumdrops - Mix Gummyfruit & Rainleaf to make 3 gumdrop seeds.
Till Next Time - Till 3 fallow Soil Plots using your Tiller.
Be a star and give me a mint - Harvest 5 starmint plants.Last edited by Ashley Preciousfable; 04-11-2011 at 09:58 AM.

Re: [GUIDE] Free Realms Farming
After you harvest a crop, your soil plot has a hole in it. If you click on it, it goes away and you have to buy more top soil. So, unless someone figures a way out, each new harvest means buying more top soil.
At lvl 3, you get a shovel, that digs out small rocks, and a bucket, that waters 3 plants.
I got attacked by gophers - click on them and you auto to 'scare' and they go away. Be sure you are not in tool or planning mode.
In an early quest Snowberry is said to like the shade of trees. I've also found it next to fallen logs.
In the descriptions, Stickfruit is said to be found near pet parks
Patch locations are starting to show up on the map with teleport to capability I have 3 (and I'm lvl 3?)
One is the wild root location.
Chugaroot can be found along the river next to Troll Forest (get in and swim)Last edited by hhhenry; 04-09-2011 at 10:50 PM.
