Icon12 learned something I did not know about collections

I traded for some items with someone yesterday and some of the items did not go in my collection area but stayed in my extras. I sent a question to staff to see if there was a problem. Turns out you have to have found at least one item in a collection before the others will be added. Otherwise they stay in your extras.

Ouch, thanks for the information! Hopefully you find the start to those collections.

I was wondering about that and I have several extra's that have locks on them, some that I've even completed the collection, I wonder why their locked?

Another interesting fact - even if you complete a collection, you can still find items for that collection. Guess you can still help a friend find items even if you've completed the collection already...

Indeed People have made markets and trading parties for any extra collection items you can trade!

i have a silly question, does anyone know if the extras are truly just that, extras? i have so many i am afraid that if i give away an extra that it will take mine away.

say I have one extra seashell will take away from my seashell collection? but really if it is in the "extras" it shouldnt affect mine right? I just want to double and triple check...
