The past six months have shown many updates such as Chat channels, guilds, leveling for the kart driver and demo derby driver. Style cards and themed events! But that was just the beginning -  Free Realms has revealed their plans for November and December - which will feature longer-term features and some of the biggest player requested items.

 

These features are due to hit the world of Free Realms in November, December and Early 2010. Many of these are highly requested by players and we are pleased to see the new features coming and that the team at SOE are listening to these requests!

Housing - With Free Realms player housing you will be able to pick from several house models (after taking a home tour) and decorate both your interior and your yard. There will be lots of furnishings available, and interactive party items like dance floors! Your pets can also be out in your yard and in your house, exploring and playing together!

 

More pet types and interactive pet play: There will be new pets available shortly, like a T-rex, Pegasus, Miniature pony and a dragon!  Free Realms also noted the concerns with interacting and teaching their pets was far too complicated. 

As part of releasing these new pets and making pet tricks easier, they are changing the pet trainer job into a series of pet trainer trophies. With this update you will earn trophies by asking your pet to do tricks without having to switch to the pet trainer job first!

 

 

 

Your pet will also do the trick right away, so you do not have to perform the trick over and over for practice. The final pet trainer trophy will have a great reward: an exclusive version of one of the new pet types! Don't worry, players who have already progressed through the pet trainer job will have the trophies automatically completed based on your current level.  And if you have a level 20 pet trainer, you will log in and get the pet right away!

 

Item Dyes -- Starting in December you will be able to choose a color for your items you purchase from the coin shop or market place!  In early 2010, you will also be able to purchase dyes to change the colors of the items you own. This includes clothes, armor and even furniture for your house!

 

Sample of all jobs -- In November, you will be able to play any job in the game to level five. This includes current free jobs.  All jobs will require membership after level five. However, any character created before November 1st will still have all free jobs playable for free, just like it is today. If you are a level 18 ninja, you will still have ninja for free. Remember though, deleting the character will loose special access to these free jobs.

Adventurer and Card Duelist Jobs will be the two only free to play jobs all the way to level twenty.

 

Easier Shopping and Selling -- There are a ton of merchants all over free realms, and it can be hard to find the perfect outfit.  Free Realms will be adding a special "coin Shop" to free realms, launched from the same button as the marketplace. You will be able to browse almost all of the items available for coins and buy them just as easy as you can shop with Station Cash.  They are also working on an Auction house that will allow you to sell your items to other players. The Coin store will be available by the end of the year and the auction house will go live early 2010.

 

 

More Action in Combat -- A large percentage of Free Realms players are fighting monsters every day and required more exciting combat. There is a new combat system that will give cooler weapons, more action and more abilities! Every combat job will receive a slew of new features.

Like playing a wizard with fire spells? Pick a fire wand, or choose an ice wand if that suits your style! Their will also be great new traits (passive abilities to boost your character's power).

Monsters are also being tweaked to provide more difficult and unique experiences.

 

 

Stream lined UI with more user options -- Soon you will be able to navigate the UI much more easily! The user interface will be changing in two key ways:  Free Realms is streamlining central elements like the game dock at the bottom of the screen and the atlas.

There will also be new features such as toggling off Friend and Trade requests!

 

 

Mini games and more fun -- Coming to free realms shortly will be Fishing!
Along with a new 2D mini-game coming in early 2010 that allows you to make dyes for clothes and furniture.

 

 

Mini game changes will also make it easier to level your jobs quickly just by playing these games. Like the daily wheel you can spin? Each mini game will have its own reward wheel you get to spin!  You can earn potions and even clothing items right from the reward wheel without doing quests!

 

 

Holiday and events -- Halloween was so much fun that Free Realms just announced there will be a Winter holiday celebration! There will be fun outfits, new items and even new party places where you and your friends can celebrate in style!
