New trading card series released -- card tournaments to come?

This afternoon featured the release of the anticipated series two trading cards entitled "Shattered Past". Along with the this release came four new "decks" which are available in four different spheres - Nature, Chaos, Machine and Order. Each of these decks cost 800 SC, feature a mixture of cards from both the old series and new, along with one of three exclusive cards found only through the purchase of these decks.

With the release of the decks also came the new booster which features ten random cards of any sphere and one virtual reward. Within the list of virtual rewards you will find a list of "tournament" and "card champion" cards. Rumors have been circling for awhile about in game tournaments hosted by SOE employees - maybe this is the start of that system? Stay tuned to Freerealmsinsider.com to find out!

The list of virtual rewards is extensive and features a new dog, a new frog mask and many clothing options for you and your pet! These rewards include many tournament cards which feature a variety of coin prizes and items (some featured in the image above) and the following listed below:
