Background Changer

The September 10th patch was finally applied to Free Realms last night and it brought a number of changes to the game.  Pex's release notes on the Sony Forums detailed the most important parts.

Today's update makes it a lot easier to get around the world of Free Realms and find things to do. Check out these highlights of what is new:
  • The Free Realms Trading Card Game’s First Expansion, Shattered Past, is now available!
  • Rock out with The Dares at the daily mini-concert at 5 PM (PST) in Snowhill!
  • A new 'Take Me There' in your quest helper will automatically take you to your next quest target
  • A new 'Stuff To Do' button has replaced the quest journal button. Click it to see your quests, collections and a new ‘Activity Finder’ that can direct you to job trainers and other activities
  • You can now teleport directly to any icon on the atlas
  • Guild lists will now properly update when members log in and out
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when playing the TCG against the computer

New Teleport Option
Take me there

I know that many of you Cardies out there are excited to jump in to the TCG and check out the new cards. I logged in this morning and tried the new teleport option, which I find great for getting to those far-off battles to level up one of your combat jobs.

What I love the most, though, is the 'Take Me There' feature. When I read the patch notes, I thought that this feature would teleport you to the next quest target, which I wasn't so keen on. However, when I logged in and actually tried it, I found that the feature merely follows the already-laid-out quest path! Now, when you've got a long quest path, you can give your fingers a rest and just watch your character do the running! I've already found that I use the warpstones less due to this feature and stumbled across a couple of collection piles on the way! Well done SOE!

A chef quest line was added to Sanctuary, as well! Find "Bordon Cloo" (get it? Cordon Bleu?) on the East Side of Sanctuary and he'll give you a new recipe called "Honey Milk Sundae". The new recipe turns you into a cow for 30 minutes when you eat it! Check me out getting ready for the soccer game in Snowhill!

Complete Bordon Cloo's quest, he'll give you a milk consumable and tell you to check with Sunflower in the westernmost field in Queensfield (south of Sanctuary) and Perry in Perry's Farm, just south of Snowhill.

Once you get one of each of the consumables, Perry will give you another quest to complete "Milk Rocks", a new timed mini-game in Sanctuary. If you complete it successfully, Perry will give you a pair of gloves called "Milk Carton" -- cow-patterned gloves with a Milk Carton in your left hand, and a "milk mustache"!

We're sure there's more that we haven't discovered yet, so jump on in to Free Realms and have some fun!
