The
Free Realms comic book issue #9 (just 3 left in the series!) released on Wednesday, continuing Dane & Maya's adventures, as well as bringing in a new item!
For this issue, the reward code included is for a "Spelunker's Shard", which only "increases a miners Talent and Timing."
While that doesn't seem like much: Don't fret! As with every issue, there's a certificate included with each code that goes towards a Comic Book collection. Since this starts a new (and last) collection for Series 1, it reveals a nifty new "Sinister Cowl" for Ninjas as a reward if you pick up the remaining issues!
Also, if you wanted to catch up with the Free Realms comic book storyline, but weren't able to pick up the issues, you can soon get the
Free Realms Book 1, which includes the first 6 issues of the series!
What's good with this is that you'll be able to catch up with the storyline, and it's also more widely available at the bigger well-known retail stores (or at least online), like
Borders,
Barnes & Noble, and
Amazon.
However, there's no word on if this collection will also include the virtual rewards each of the previous issues had.
It typically isn't up to us to determine whether something goes into brick and mortar stores or is available only online. Free Realms is not a high-volume comic when you compare it to some of the other titles out there. I would imagine the print run on a combined comic is similarly small, so it makes sense to distribute it online only. That's my guess.
